Bio:

Onyay Pheori is a vocalist, violinist, recording & performing artist and actress. She is currently in the studio recording an album with her new band Curious Blue and traveling around the world performing with MASS Ensemble. She is also recording on different projects with inspiring musicians and producers in a range of styles for film and televsion. Onyay recently recorded violin on a bonus track for grammy winning Herbie Hancock's recent album release "The Imagine Project" and her latest music video, “Visitation”, with a mystical and environmental theme, appeared in the Portraits Assignment at Flatbed Press in Austin, Texas. She also wrote and recorded "The World is Ready" with grammy winning producer, Jeff Bova, that was used in the tck tck tck campaign's International celebrity PSA raising awareness for climate change. Onyay has also appeared in over 40 roles on stage and screen with an array of independent shorts and films in the festival circuit over the last few years. Onyay began a 7 Year Quest called 33 Muses in 2005 when she started traveling to sacred sites opening up to the mysteries and frequencies beyond this world. At each site crowds gathered transfixed by her sound and she began understanding how to share these experiences through music and multi-media performance. Since 33 Muses’ inception, she has journeyed deep into the Amazonian Rainforest and ascended high into the Andes of Peru and Ecuador, explored the Mayan Ruins of Mexico, the Temples and Pyramids of Egypt, the Caves and Ruins of Crete and Greece, the castles and mountains of Southern France as well as sacred and natural places in over 21 countries including Chile, Ireland, Indonesia, South Africa and New Zealand. Her process involves a receptivity and communication with the sounds and memories held in these places, translating them through her voice and violin as a sonic shapeshifter, becoming more human and more than human simultaneously. Onyay’s experimental lyrics and hypnotic melodies explore love, loss, longing, bliss, sensuality, intimacy, freedom, illusion, consciousness, the peaks, the valleys and the journey of being human in a forever changing world.
